The Spline Optimizer modifier allows users to easily and quickly reduce the number of points on spline shapes. Users are given three methods to choose from ‘Optimize, Number of Spans, Number of Points’. The last two options are evenly spaced along the splines. This modifier also works on shapes which consist of multiple splines. Any suggestions you may have be sure to leave in the comments section.
This free maxscript tools allows users to more intuitively adjust object id’s inside of 3ds Max.
To install just drag and drop the file into the 3ds Max viewport.
Node Properties is a floating window that allows users to visual recieve real-time feedback on object properties and vray properties. It also display the Layer Name of the actively select object or objects. Currently the tool displays the basic Object and Vray Object properties. Node Properties Object allows artists to mass edit various Object Properties and Vray Properties for any number of objects. Use this tool to assign properties to groups of objects in 3ds Max. To install just copy the downloaded file into your max scripts startup directory.
ex. (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2012\scripts\Startup\)
Once 3ds Max is open, Just go to the create panel and under Standard Primitives, you’ll see NodeProperties. Click on the button and then click+drag in viewport.
Vray Sample List allows users to mass edit any Vray related sample settings. Whether it’s a sample setting from vray dirt, reflections, refractions, samples, subdivs, or atmospheric settings, sss, all of these properties and many more will appear in the list for quick editing. What is Varo?
Varo is a standalone application which allows users to send commands to various software packages. Varo uses the socket/port to send and receive commands. Varo makes it easy to organize project files all in one place. Users can create multiple tabs with filters to display specified file formats. When users double click the file it will launch in it’s native program or use Varo’s send command to execute the file in it’s targeted application.
How is Varo useful?
Organizing Scripts & Tools: It’s common to find multiple applications being used in daily production. As a result technical teams are tasked with organizing and supporting these applications by creating scripts and placing them in the interfaces of each application. What Varo allows is for the scripts written for all these applications to be organized and store in one location. Teams can display the scripts in individual tabs with names associated with the application they are designed for.
Searching For Files: During the course of a production many files are created. As a result it makes it hard for users to quickly find the files they are looking for, whether it be scripts, images, or even applications. Varo allows users to quickly filter and search for files within specified criteria.
